MEXICO — The Earth bid farewell to a beautiful soul Tuesday, Nov. 7, when James Frank Stevens, 66, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Mexico, Maine. James was born Oct. 15, 1951, in Farmington, Maine, to Arlene (Martin) and Robert W. Stevens Sr.
James was a man with a generous and loving heart, his compassion knew no bounds and his love was without condition.
He was a Dirigo graduate of the class of ’69 and went on to study at UMF, before transferring to Mid-State and graduating with two associate degrees in Accounting and Business Management in ’92. In the midst of his studies he was a freelance writer for the Sun Journal, which during the early ’90s included an overwhelming amount of photos of his children. His hobbies included fishing, sports and spending time with his family, whom he adored.
He is survived by brothers Richard Stevens of Arcadia, Fla., David Stevens of Bangor, Robert W. Stevens Jr. and wife Jacqueline of Brunswick, Donald Stevens and wife Betsey of Skowhegan. Sister Nancy Stevens of Canton, longtime companion Eva Bickford; daughter Sheena Arsenault and husband Ken Snow of Mexico; son James Stevens Arsenault and wife Jenine Arsenault of Mexico, and their children, his grandsons James Arsenault, Jim Arsenault and Jimmy Arsenault (his legacy), his grandaughters Molly Arsenault and Heather-Anne Arsenault, and his great-granddaughter Nova Arsenault of Mexico.
Predeceased by mother and father. Sister, Helen (Stevens) Griffin.
