LEWISTON — Janet Edgecomb Webber, 85, of West Gardiner, passed away unexpectedly April 8 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Lewiston.
She was born Aug. 6, 1924, in West Gardiner, the daughter of Fred Edgecomb and Isabelle Pelton. She was educated in Litchfield schools and married Robert B. Webber on Sept. 1, 1941.
She had various jobs over the years, the last being in the Litchfield School System as a teacher’s aide, from where she retired. She faithfully attended Litchfield Plains Baptist Church for many years.
Mom was a very devoted mother to us all and a good friend to many. She will be missed greatly.
She is survived by four children, Lee Webber and wife, Natalie, of Millinocket, Muriel Griffin and husband, Donald, of Spring Hills, Fla., Janet Dumont of West Gardiner and David Webber and wife, Debra, of Londonderry, N.H. She is also survived by a brother, Alan Edgecomb and wife, Judy, of Litchfield; a sister, Elaine Roth, and husband, Clyde, of Farmingdale. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Robert; brother, Robert Edgecomb; and son-in-law, Philip Dumont.
