1956 – 2014
GREENE — Janis J. Sylvester, 58, of Greene, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, Dec. 28, while holding her loving husband’s hand.
She was born in Lewiston on Feb. 13, 1956, a daughter of the late Alfred J. Latuscha and Rita J. Beaudoin. She attended local schools and was a 1974 graduate of Lewiston High School. On Sept. 15, 1974, Janis married the love of her life, David Sylvester, and together raised two children.
Janis was an energetic and caring woman who took great joy in giving to and helping others. Her knowledge of and love for the Lord shined through her and touched many.
One of her many passions was helping her second family at Christ Temple Church. Janis was an advocate for good health and encouraged others to take care of themselves through God’s word.
Her family was her life; she loved them all selflessly and with her whole heart. We will carry her bright light in our hearts forever.
Besides her husband of Greene, she is survived by her son, Michael and wife, Nicole, and their three children, Kaylee, Jack and Scout Sylvester, all of Greene; her daughter, Marcia and husband, Don, and their four children, Mariah, Megan, Melissa and Derick Webber, all of Lewiston; two brothers, John Latuscha and wife, Ann, and Robert and wife, Annie, all of Lewiston; three sisters, Linda Boucher and husband, Claude, Diann Ackerly and husband, Scott, and Carol Latuscha, all of Lewiston; a godchild, Lisa Zuniga; and a special aunt and uncle, Joan and Robert Baril of Lewiston. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
