Jazz/funk band will perform April 14

GARDINER – “Sounds Good! Music Live at Johnson Hall” will present Revision, a jazz/funk band, at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 14, at Johnson Hall Performing Arts Center.

Revision is a vehicle for a new blend of music that pays respect to those who came before them while claiming a spot among the new jazz/funk revivalists.

Drummer Devon Reehl, keyboardist John Petronzio and guitarist Nick Bullock make up the jam band that fuses funk, soul, and rock ‘n’ roll into one original polyrhythmic sound.

They are prolific writers, releasing two albums in three years and touring an average of 150 days annually.

All three musicians are recent graduates of Ithaca College and are still based in Ithaca, but their connection to Gardiner is a strong one. Reehl grew up in Gardiner, assisting his parents in the renovation process of the Johnson Hall studio theater where “Sounds Good!” performances are held.

Tickets are $9, $4 for students with ID. Seating is limited. For reservations, call 582-7144. The arts center is at 280 Water St.
