1920 – 2014
AUBURN — Jeanne C. Emond, 94, formerly of Maison Marcotte and 22 First St. in Lewiston, where she lived most of her life, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 6, at Clover Health Care and Living Center.
She was born in Windsor Mills, Quebec, a daughter of Lumina and Donat Cote. She was educated in Lewiston and was a life member of this community. Jeanne married Bertrand Emond on Jan. 27, 1941, and they were married for 66 years; he predeceased her in 2007.
Jeanne was a devoted wife and a loving mother to her two daughters, Claire and Doris. She always loved music and especially loved to sing. She was a talented crafter, showering her family with her lovely gifts. Her kindness, wit, generosity and smile will remain in our hearts forever.
She leaves behind her daughters, Claire Gamache and Doris Lazarski and husband, Ron; her brother-in-law, Donald Voteur; and her grandchildren, Joseph Gamache and wife, Ali, Terri Wilber and husband, Rob, Sherri Frounfelter and husband, Ray, and Julie Lawrence and husband, Mark. She also leaves behind seven great-grandchildren, Jacob ,Caitlin, Maxwell, Wyatt, Ryan, Cassandra and Dylan.
Jeanne was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Bertand; her brother, Joseph Cote; and her sister, Pauline Voteur.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Clover Health Care and Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice for their care and compassion to Jeanne during her illness.
