Jeannette G. Giard
1918 – 2010
AUBURN — Jeannette G. Giard, 91, passed away Friday morning, Feb. 26, at Clover Manor Health Care Facility.
She was born in St. Justine, P.Q. Canada, on April 16, 1918, one of 12 children born to Gaudiose and Alphonsine (Godbout) Cote.
On Jan. 24, 1948, she married Gerard J. Giard who predeceased her on March 2, 1996.
Mrs. Giard worked as a stitcher for many years in several local shoe shops until her retirement.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Church and among her favorite enjoyments were quilting, planting and tending to her flower gardens, especially her roses and lilacs, watching golf, and playing Beano. Her greatest enjoyments were the special times with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. While residing for a few years at the Lake Auburn Townhouse, Jeannette was also very active and involved with resident activities. She was a loving, devoted wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.
She leaves three sons, Ronald Giard and wife, Ann, of Kents Hill, Daniel Giard and wife, Monique, of Minot, and Fernand Giard and wife, Michelle, of Harpswell; 12 grandchildren, John, Anthony, Jennifer, Wendy, Eric, Shannon, Joshua, Robin, Jessica, Phoebe, Ruth and Sophia; 10 great-grandchildren, Maxwell, Morgan, Connor, Chase, Lucas, Lilly, Elise, Bryce, Julianna and Layla; many nieces and nephews; and a son-in-law, Tom Richardson, of Greene.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia Ann Richardson; seven sisters; and four brothers.
