1936 – 2016
AUBURN — On Friday, April 8, beloved mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother Jeannine Bertha Therrien, 79, passed away peacefully at the Hospice House.
She was the oldest of three and was born and raised in Lisbon on Sept. 21, 1936, the daughter of the late William and Marie (St. Hilaire) Poulin.
In 1956, she married Elie Therrien and happily raised three of her own children in Lisbon as well. She was a devout Catholic and attended mass at Holy Trinity Church. She worked for many years and retired from L.L. Bean. She was well-known for her quilts and baby blankets and regularly participated in numerous craft fairs. Receiving and owning one of Grammie’s quilts was an honor and she made sure all of her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids had one specially made. There are no words to express how deeply she will be missed.
She is survived by her three children, Kim Staggs and her husband Jeff, Pamela Fitzgerald and her husband, Bob, and Scot Therrien and his wife, Peggy; her brother, Danny Poulin and his wife, Phyllis; sisters-in-law, Linda Poulin and Pat Gravel; her seven grandchildren, Jeffrey Staggs and his wife, Jen, Erica Staggs, Jenna Williams and her husband, Jared, Nicole Fitzgerald, Cassandra Therrien and her significant other, Mitch Jenneman, Scot Therrien and his wife, Erica, and Matthew Therrien and his wife, Cassidy; and last but not least, her beloved 12 great-grandchildren, Olivia and Eli Staggs, Dalton and Peyton Lajoie, Nolan and Layne Williams, Aiden LaViolette and Lilly Steckino, Colby Jenneman, Camden and Mallory Therrien, and Jack Therrien; and many nieces and nephews.
Jeannine was predeceased by her parents; her husband; and her brother, Raynold Poulin.
“May the wind of heaven blow softly and whisper in your ear how much we love you and miss you and wish that you were here”
You’ll never be forgotten
That simply cannot be
As long as I am living
I’ll carry you with me
Safely tucked within my heart
Your light will always shine;
A glowing ember never stilled
Throughout the end of time
No matter what the future brings
On what may be ahead
I know that you will walk with me
Along the path ahead
So rest my angel, be at peace
And let your soul fly free
One day I’ll join your glorious flight
For all eternity
