John D. Freeman Jr.


LEWISTON – John D. Freeman Jr., 48, of Freeman Drive, Brownfield died Tuesday, April 18, at Central Maine Medical Center as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

He was born in Escondido, Calif., Nov. 28, 1957, the son of John D. Sr. and Helen (Wall) Freeman. He was a graduate of Newburyport High School, Class of 1975. He attended Northern Essex and was a graduate of Franklin Institute of Boston.

Prior to moving to Maine in 1984, he was a Massachusetts State Trooper stationed at the Framingham Barracks along with his father, Trooper John D. Freeman Sr. He was currently employed at Fryeburg Academy as their computer technician, and also MSAD 72 as a school bus driver.

His interests included scouting. He became an Eagle Scout in 1974, was past Scout Leader of Troop 8 Newburyport, Mass., and was currently Cub Scout Master of Pack 188, and current Boy Scout Master of Troop 169 both of Brownfield.

He was currently a volunteer fireman with the Brownfield Fire Department serving as safety officer. He was a taxidermist, avid outdoorsman, computer enthusiast, enjoyed motorcycles and had great love for children and animals.

He is survived by his parents of Newburyport, Mass.; his wife of Brownfield, the former Robbyn Blaisdell whom he married on June 24, 1979; two sons, John D. III and Robert J. both of Brownfield; one daughter, Aimee J. of Brownfield; three sisters, Mrs. John Jolenne Porter of Amesbury, Mass., Mrs. Arthur Virginia Clausnitzer of Groveland, Mass. and Mrs. Kenneth Mona Langmaid of Salisbury, Mass., one niece; many nephews; two great-nieces; and two great-nephews.
