John J. Brennick III


RUMFORD – John J. Brennick III, 81, died Saturday, April 29, at the Rumford Hospital. He was a resident of Hancock Street in Rumford.

Born in Rumford on June 25, 1924, he was a son of John and Yvonne (Provencher) Brennick II. He was a graduate of Stephens High School.

He served in the U.S. Army with the Company B 865th Engineer Battalion.

He worked for Boise Cascade in the color plant for 44 years until his retirement in 1986.

John was a communicant of St. Athanasius – St John Church, Napoleon Ouellette Post No. 24 American Legion, Robert Shand Post No. 1641 VFW.

He loved horse racing, beano and cribbage.

He was married in Rumford, to the former Louise Poisson, who survives, of Rumford. Other survivors include four sons, David Brennick of Portland, John Brennick of Windham, Michael Brennick and his wife, Janet, of Mexico, Mark Brennick and his wife, Sara, of Rumford Center; six daughters, Deborah Simpson of Lewiston, Gail Gaudin and her husband, Patrick, of Peru, Gloria Carter and her husband, Jim, of Rumford, Carol Nadeau and her husband, Michael, of Rumford, Pam Bryant and her husband, David, of Ada, Okla., and Kelly Bordeau of Mexico; a brother, Raymond and his wife, Inez, of Farmington Falls; 31 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
