Jon A. Ross


Brunswick – Jon A. Ross, 51, of Merrymeeting Road died Saturday, April 29, at the Mid Coast Hospital.

He was born in Spokane, Wash., Aug. 2, 1954, the son of Jack E. and Marian Crocker Ross. He attended Rangeley schools and was a 1973 graduate of Belfast High School.

On Sept. 13, 1975 he married Jeanna Hahn.

In 1977 they moved to Brunswick and he began his job as a design engineer at Bath Iron Works, which he continued until the time of his death.

His passion was truck driving and excavating, and he also worked for Searles Excavating in the Rangeley area. He also enjoyed fishing in Rangeley and golfing. He was known as “Papa” to his grandchildren and enjoyed spending quality time with his family.

Surviving besides his wife of Brunswick and his father Jack E. Ross of Rangeley; a son, Jack E. Ross II and his wife, Lisa, of Topsham; two daughters, Jessica L. Coffin and her fianc, Rodney Allard, of Bowdoin and Jenny M. Campbell and her husband, Charlie, of Brunswick; a sister, Sherri Bryant and her husband, Douglas, of Bath; two close friends, Jack Searles of Rangeley and Lewis Phillips of Wilton; 11 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his mother, Marian Ross; and a son in-law, Jerry Coffin.
