1949 – 2014
LEWISTON — Joseph F. Graham, 64, a resident of Woodside Drive in Lewiston, died Monday, Dec. 8, at his residence, following a brief illness.
He was born in Manchester on Dec. 31, 1949, a son of Joseph and Doris (Moreau) Graham. Joe was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam Conflict.
On Oct. 7, 1972, he married the love of his life, the former Joyce French. After starting a family in New Hampshire, he and his wife relocated to Lewiston in 1976, where he became supervisor of the former W.S. Libbey Mill, until its closing.
He retired to become a full-time golfer. He played on a Wednesday travel league. He was a member of Central Maine Seniors Golf League, and his most memorable play was at St. Andrews in Scotland when he traveled with his wife, Joyce, to Europe.
He was a very active grandfather who loved his grandchildren, especially taking trips to Disney World with his granddaughter, Samantha. His winters always included golf in Florida, where his wife would join him.
Joe will always be known for his outgoing, friendly, upbeat personality that you would never forget once you met him. He will be sadly missed by all who loved him.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce; one son, Jason; one daughter, Andrea; one brother, Brian Graham and wife, Brenda; and five sisters, Gloria Letourneau and husband, Dale, Debbie Lunderville and husband, Larry, Cindy and Brenda Graham, as well as Karen Pittman and husband, Patrick.
