Joseph Leo G. Metayer


WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Joseph Leo Gerard “Gerry” Metayer, 61, of West Palm Beach, Fla., formerly of Lewiston died suddenly on May 19, in Florida.

He was born in Lewiston on July 5, 1944, the son of Leo and Lauretta (Bolduc) Metayer.

He attended Saints Peter and Paul School and L’University de St. Joseph in Moncton, New Brunswick Canada. He was a member of the Boys Scouts of America. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force being honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sgt.

Gerry was self-employed as a mobile home repairman. He also enjoyed working outside around the yard.

He is survived by two sisters, Constance Leeman and Louise Gagne and her husband, Marcel, all of Lewiston; his companion, Jean Soule, of 26 years of West Palm Beach, Fla.; nephews and nieces, Dan Pinoski and his wife, Jeannette, of Buckfield, James Leeman and his wife, Tracy, Lucy “Luch” Clark and her husband, Roger and Laurie Gagne, all of Lewiston; great-nephews and nieces, Matt Eldridge, Jessica and Jacob Pinoski, all of Buckfield, Elizabeth Witham, Timothy Leeman, Jacob and Sarah Clark, Alexandrah Gagne-Robertson, all of Lewiston; great-great-nieces, Adriaunna Eldridge and Skyla Lapointe.

He was predeceased by his parents; a sister, Lucille; a niece, Kathleen Pinoski; and a great-nephew, Derek Bartlett.
