Joseph P. Tenneson


LEWISTON – Joseph P. Tenneson, 86, a resident of Federal Road, Livermore, died Saturday morning, June 30th at d’Youville Pavilion in Lewiston, where he was a patient.

He was born April 11, 1921, in Wellesley, Mass., the son of Peter and Cleo (Swett) Tenneson.

He was a graduate of Brunswick High School. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

On Nov. 26, 1949, he married Barbara Lewis in Brunswick. She passed away Aug. 25, 1997.

He worked for Maine Central Railroad as a telegraph operator and retired in 1985.

He enjoyed square dancing, traveling in his recreational vehicle, camping, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and especially the time he spent with his family.

He is survived by his son, Mark Tenneson of Livermore; a brother, Alfred Tenneson and his wife, Pauline, of Topsham; a sister, Joan P. Johnson and her husband, Granville, of Bailey Island; and his nieces and nephews.
