1947 – 2014
AUBURN — Joyce D. Chick, 67, of Auburn and formerly of Augusta, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Nov. 4.
She was born on Feb. 13, 1947, the daughter of Diana Jean and George Duplessis.
For many years, Joyce worked for the Kmart Corp. She moved on and became a medication aide at Gardiner Estates Boarding Home.
Anyone who knew Joyce knew that she was a gifted seamstress, always working on a quilt or afghan for someone. Joyce also enjoyed spending her summers at their camp on Lake Maranacook in Winthrop.
She is survived by her loving companion, Richard C. Huntress, of Auburn; her devoted dog, Diva; her son, Scott M. Rodrigue and his wife, RoseAnn, of Farmingdale; her grandchildren, Tyler David and Savanna Rose of Farmingdale, who were the light of her life; two brothers, Gerald Duplessis of Augusta and Kenneth Duplessis of Florida; her four very special friends, Bill Ricker and Judy Odessey and Arnold and Claudette Chick; and many friends, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Joyce was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Bobby.
