Judge: Boy will live with father in Maine

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) – A 5-year-old boy at the center of a three-way custody dispute will live with his father, a judge ruled Monday.

The boy, whose name had been Evan Johnson, will now be known as Evan Parker White, taking the last name of his father, Stephen White, said Judge Waddell Wallace.

After White refused to consent to Evan’s adoption by the Scotts, the case was dismissed and the boy moved in with his biological mother, Amanda Hopkins, of Glenview, Ill., in January 2005.

In a 28-page report, Wallace wrote that boy should live permanently with his father in Maine.

Amanda Hopkins was given visitation rights and ordered to pay child support.
