June Verna Denis
LEWISTON – June Verna Denis, 79, lifelong resident of Lisbon died Friday, March 5, at Montello Manor in Lewiston following a long illness.
She was born Dec. 20, 1930 in Brunswick, a daughter of Earlon and Mabel (White) Goodwin. She attended schools in Lisbon Falls.
June worked for many years at the Farnsworth Mill in Lisbon as a stitcher. She had also worked at various area shoe shops, retiring in 1990.
She had been a longtime member of the former St. Anne’s Church of Lisbon. June was an avid gardener and was very proud of the rose gardens that she tended meticulously. She will be remembered by those who knew and loved her for her kind-hearted caring nature and for her generosity.
Survivors include her daughter Paulette and her husband, George King, of Lisbon; a sister, Pearl Brooks of Brunswick; a brother, Kenneth Goodwin of Arizona; several nieces and nephews; a special niece, Suzie Lovin of South Carolina; and nephew, Denis Goff of Florida.
She was predeceased by her husband, Paul D. Denis, who died in 1983; and a brother, Richard “Dick” Goodwin.
