Karate: United students shine


LIVERMORE FALLS – On Oct. 24, six students from United Fitness and Martial Arts competed in the 19th Annual UMMA Karate Tournament. They faced fierce competition in a wide range of divisions including sumo, forms, sparring and weapons.

Sensei Jaaron Shaw was proud to watch his students compete, most for the first time. Between Caleb Beaudoin, Thomas Therrien, Emily Castonguay and Jordyn Mitchell of Livermore Falls, Bryce Marston of Livermore and Marrissa Brailey of Turner, Shaw’s students claimed six trophies.Many other students also came to watch the competition and enjoyed the day.
