Katahdin Valley Boys will play at Leeds church

LEEDS — The Katahdin Valley Boys, one of Maine’s most popular bluegrass bands, will perform Saturday, March 27, at Leeds Community Church.

Proceeds will go to the church’s heating system fund.

In 2009, The Boys received the Maine Academy of Country Music award for Maine’s Best Bluegrass Band.

The band plays traditional and contemporary bluegrass and gospel music, plus numerous original tunes. Each member brings many years of experience and showmanship to the band’s hard-driving, traditional bluegrass sound.

The Boys are unique in that all five band members share lead singing. Their repertoire features tight harmonies and smooth solos.

The performance will be from 7 to 9 p.m.

Tickets, $10, will be available at the door. They may also be reserved by calling 524-7151 or 524-5212. Reserved tickets must be picked up by 6:30 p.m. day of show.

Refreshments will be available during intermission.
