Kids’ advocates seek award nominees

LEWISTON – For the 15th year, Advocates for Children will honor one individual with its community service award for special contributions to the prevention of child abuse in the community.

Nominees may demonstrate their efforts in either a professional or volunteer capacity.

Last year’s recipient was Deborah Potter-Cashman, an assistant district attorney.

Those who know someone in the field of education, treatment or prevention who has demonstrated the ability to address and reduce child abuse and neglect in Androscoggin County are invited to make a nomination.

The deadline is Friday, Sept. 14.

The award will be presented at Advocates for Children’s annual meeting in October.
