Kids can go on ‘snorkeling adventure’


LEWISTON — The YWCA of Central Maine and Barclay’s Skindiver’s Paradise will offer a Junior Snorkel Adventure class for children from 5 to 6 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, April 20 and 22, at the YWCA, 130 East Ave.

Junior Snorkel Adventure will starts a child’s underwater experiences in a positive and safe way. Children will learn all the basic techniques of snorkeling in a fun, activity-based atmosphere. Special attention to proper equipment and care is an integral part of the course. A bathing suit and a towel is all that’s needed.

The class is open to children ages 7 to 10. The cost is $50 for two one-hour sessions and upon completion of the class children will receive a professional snorkel and mask that is properly fitted for them. The class will be facilitated by Barclay’s Skindiver’s Paradise. Preregistration is required.
