LIVERMORE FALLS – Pitcher Jillian Kimball demonstrated good-control, striking out eight batters and walking none, to lead Telstar to a 3-1 softball triumph over Livermore Falls in the Mountain Valley Conference on Monday.
Josie Reiss hit a double and a triple, and had all three RBIs for the Rebels (4-0). Abby Hutchins contributed a double.
The Andies (3-2) were led with a strong defensive effort by center fielder Marjorie DeBrosky and shortstop Taryn Flagg, who had the lone RBI. Sophomore pitcher Whitney McDaniel walked only one batter.
Morse 3, Lewiston 2
BATH – Pitcher Jill Henrikson knocked in the clinching run with an RBI single in the bottom of the sixth as Morse edged Lewiston 3-2 Monday.
Henrikson’s single plated Heather Miller, after she walked and stole second. Miller also had a two-run double earlier in the game for the Shipbuilders (2-3).
Danielle Willey took the hard-luck loss, striking out 10 batters and issuing three walks. Maria Labbe had two RBIs and Allie Morin scored two runs for the Blue Devils (2-3).
Medomak Valley 7, Oak Hill 5
WALDOBORO – April Baker went 3-for-3 with a triple to carry unbeaten Medomak Valley to a 7-5 victory over Oak Hill.
Missy Ambridge also had three hits for Medomak Valley (5-0).
Kristen Eaton went 3-for-4 with a double, while Nikki Doustou had two hits and two RBIs for Oak Hill. Becca Roberts hit a solo home run for the Raiders (3-2).
Dirigo 13, Mountain Valley 0
RUMFORD – Abby Fenstermacher and Katie Hutchinson combined for a two-hit shutout as Dirigo defeated Mountain Valley 13-0 in an MVC softball match-up.
Michelle Holmquist and Shannon Daley each had three hits and three RBIs for the Cougars (3-1). Holmquist had two singles and a triple, while Daley contributed two doubles and a single.
Abby Mills, Kelly Palmer, and Stephanie Gallant each had a hit for the Falcons (0-4).
Jay 23, Boothbay 3
BOOTHBAY HARBOR – Brittany Frayley had four hits, including a two-run homer in the fourth inning to lead Jay to a 23-3 victory over Boothbay.
Desiree Castonguay had three hits, while Ashley Brooks had two hits for the Tigers (2-4). Jay starting pitcher Felicia Floyd went the distance, surrendered three runs on three hits.
Boothbay (0-4) committed nine errors.
Georges Valley 5, Lisbon 3
THOMASTON – Chelsey Eugley cracked a two-run triple to open the scoring for Georges Valley as the Buccaneers scored in each of the first four innings en route to a 5-3 triumph over Lisbon in a matchup of undefeated teams.
Vanessa Frisbee scattered four hits for Georges Valley (4-0). Nicole Poland also hit a RBI triple, and Desiree Smith added an RBI single and scored a run.
Emily Moore (2-1) took the loss for the Greyhounds (5-1), despite a six-strikeout performance. Heather Parry had two RBIs for Lisbon.
Madison 9, Mt. Abram 5
SALEM – Jessica Hayden had a double and a two-run single in the top of the eighth to power Madison to a 9-5 victory over Mt. Abram.
Ashley Marandola got the win on the mound for Madison (3-1) and hit an RBI double in the eighth.
Jen Thomas belted a two-run home run in the second and finished with three RBIs for Mt. Abram (3-2). Ashia Burrell and Beth Wheeler chipped in with two hits.
Yarmouth 1, Fryeburg 0
FRYEBURG – Annie Dursman hit a double and scored the winning run two batters later in the top of the sixth as Yarmouth posted a 1-0 win over Fryeburg in a defensive struggle.
Alyssa Lowell pitched five innings with five strikeouts to earn the win before giving way to Sarah Swan, who allowed no hits the rest of the way for the Clippers (5-1).
Hannah Hill struck out seven and allowed three hits in a complete game effort for the Raiders (2-4).
Poland 3, Greely 2
CUMBERLAND – Robyn Gauthier smacked a leadoff home run in the second inning as Poland held on for a 3-2 victory over Greely.
Kaci Ford had a solid day defensively for the Knights (3-1), making a running catch with the bases loaded in the fifth to shut down a Greely comeback. Kelli O’Connor fanned six for the win.
Greely (4-2) was led by Jana Luksha with three hits, including a double. A hit-batter tallied both of the Rangers runs in the first.
St. Dom’s 16, NYA 3
YARMOUTH – Freshman Mary Lewis hit a home run, a triple and a double, knocked in three runs and scored twice to lead St. Dom’s to a 16-3 triumph over North Yarmouth.
Elisha Dorso had three hits, including a three-run triple in the fourth, and finished with five RBIs for the Saints (1-2). Danielle Guerin added a two-run double.
Pitcher Jen Cullen was credited with a no-hitter.
Edward Little 10, Mtn. Valley 8
RUMFORD – Olivia Welch led all scorers with three goals and an assist as Edward Little topped Mountain Valley 10-8 in a girls’ lacrosse.
Brittney French tallied a pair of goals and had two assists, while Brianna Wing and Elizabeth Esponnette each scored twice for the Eddies (1-4). Karen Leary rounded out the scoring.
The Falcons (0-5) were led with two goals apiece by Angie Child and Jenny Hamann. Paige Carter, Brittany Coolomb, Karri Patneaude, and Stephanie Dragoon also scored.
Messalonskee 16, Oxford Hills 4
SOUTH PARIS – Beth Ridley, Sam Burdick, and Heather Doolittle each tallied three goals apiece as Messalonskee posted a 16-4 win over Oxford Hills.
Hannah Strauss, Jamiee Brett, June Chaves, and Brooke Mason each tallied a goal for the Vikings (3-1).
Morse 12, Lewiston 3
BATH – Cecilia Kjellman tallied four goals as Morse rolled to a 13-2 victory over Lewiston.
Abby Miller and Jess Brooks each contributed three goals apiece, while Katie Boyce and Martha Thomas each netted one goal for the Shipbuilders (3-2).
Kelsey Rodrigue netted all three goals for the Blue Devils (2-3).
