Kora Shriners pleased with car show


TURNER – The third annual Kora Shriners Car Show and Fly-In was held on July 14 and 15 at Twitchell’s Airport.

The car cruise on Saturday had about 80 cars traveling the streets of Auburn followed by a pig roast and live entertainment from the Not For Hire Band.

The car show on Sunday saw nearly 300 vehicles from as far away as Quebec, Canada. The best of show winner was Andre Simard from Quebec with his 1928 Packard Roadster. First, second- and third-place trophies were distributed to winners in 26 classifications.

It was a successful fundraising event for the Kora Shriners.

Shriners Hospitals for Children is a network of 22 pediatric hospitals in the U.S., Canada and Mexico that provide specialized care for orthopedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries and cleft lip and palate. All services are provided free.

Eligibility for care is not based on financial need or relationship to a Shriner. Anyone who knows of a child who needs help should call the toll-free patient referral line at 800-237-5055.
