Koskela book-signing at Paris library

WEST PARIS – An open house will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 3, at the West Paris Library in conjunction with West Paris Old Home Days.

From 12:30 to 2 p.m., Eleanor Koskela will hold a book signing and discuss the book, “The Way it Was,” the collected memories of her husband, Taisto.

It includes tales from his parents’ immigration though his experience as a sportsman and woodsman on Mollockett Mountain. The stories of the life of a Finnish American farmer are told with humor and candor.

He lived in South Woodstock from 1919 to 2003 and was a founding member of the Finnish American Society of Maine. Koskela was a registered Maine Guide and was a member of other organizations.

Friends of the Library are hosting the open house and will be on hand to answer questions about the library and its activities, the planned expansion and fundraising efforts. Refreshments will be served by the Friends.
