Kristin E. Thomas


SAVANNA, Okla. – Kristin E. Thomas, 68, of Savanna, Okla., died Saturday, April 8, at home.

He was born April 14, 1937, in Auburn to Howard and Doris Wood Thomas. He grew up and graduated from Edward Little High School in Auburn. He entered the United States Air Force on Jan. 7, 1959, where he was a jet fighter aircraft mechanic until he received his honorable discharge on Nov. 5, 1962.

Shortly after receiving his discharge he married Betty Stafford in Savanna in 1962, and they later moved to Maine, where they would stay until moving back to Savanna in 1978. He began working for the Jackie Brannon Correctional Center as the supervisor over the dairy where he worked until his retirement 1997. He enjoyed the ocean where he would fish and scuba dive.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Erik and Denese Thomas of Mcalester, Okla., Nathan and April Thomas of Hope Mills, N.C.; a daughter and son-in-law, Tara and Steven Davidson of Hartshorne, Okla.; four grandchildren, Seth and Kensey Davidson, of Hartshorne, Okla., Isabella and Isaiah Thomas of Hope Mills, N.C.; two sisters and brother-in-law, Terry and Don Lebel of Auburn, Billie Whight of Greene; nieces and nephews, David Whight of New York, John Whight, Charles “Tom” Whight and Pam Adams of Maine, Joann Leuteman of Washington, Heidi Lebel of Maine.

He was predeceased by his parents, Howard and Doris Thomas; and his wife, Betty Thomas.
