MONDAY, Feb. 24

AUBURN —  City Council workshop at 5:30 p.m. Topics include budget and bond package for Auburn Water District. Regular meeting at 7 p.m. 

LEWISTON — School Committee, 6:45 p.m., Dingley Building, reports of Lewiston Middle School improvements, funding reclassification from unexpected McMahon construction funds, No Child Left Behind accountability and Montello School improvement grant, discipline workshop and expanding alternative education programming.

TUESDAY, Feb. 25

LEWISTON —  City Council workshop at 5:30 p.m. with discussion of new ward boundaries. Regular meeting at 7 p.m. with topics including releasing restaurant health inspections on the city website, city permits, city fees and a vote on labor agreements with Public Works employees.


AUBURN — School Committee budget discussions at 5:30 p.m., Auburn Hall Council Chambers, public participation encouraged. Future budget meetings are March 5, 12 and 19. School Committee budget vote expected March 26.

FRIDAY, Feb. 28

LEWISTON — Book talk and beer tasting by Maine author and beer blogger Josh Christie, 6 p.m. Lewiston Public Library Callahan Hall, free. Christie will talk about his book, “Maine Beer: Brewing in Vacationland.” Tour of Lewiston’s Baxter Brewer Co., followed by reception and beer tasting.

AUBURN — Fourth annual farmers market, 4:30-6:30 p.m., live music, food, crafts for children, Auburn Public Library.


AUBURN — Dr. Seuss birthday celebration, just for children, 1 to 3 p.m., Auburn Public Library Androscoggin Community Room. Carnival-style games, crafts and birthday cake. Free.
