Showcased in the exhibit – on display at the Atrium Art Gallery at the college through May 6 – are paintings, drawings, prints, ceramics, jewelry, furniture and sculptural pieces in wood and metal.

Atrium Art Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

Pieces have been created by a combination of returning artists and artists participating in the exhibit/auction for the first time. Among the newcomers is John Stass of Lewiston, who has submitted a prototype wooden music stand. The winning bidder will be able to choose the type of wood for the actual stand.

Other new artists include Donna Sabaka, who submitted a watercolor; Rebecca Haley McCall, oil painting; Roberta Goschke, a charcoal drawing and an oil painting; Nancy Morgan Barnes, a charcoal drawing and an oil painting; Caren-Marie Michel, two acrylic paintings; and Bridget O’Rourke, a wooden bowl.

Among the familiar contributors are photographer Steve Traficonte, ceramic artists Melody and Garret Bonnema, printmaker Rebecca Goodale, painter Martha Truscott, and McIntosh & Tuttle Cabinetmakers.

Bidding, with Jody McMorrow of McMorrow Auction Co. as auctioneer, will begin at 8 p.m. at L/A College, 51 Westminster St., Lewiston. Auction tickets are $30 each, $35 if purchased at the door.

The UMA Café Jazz Ensemble, a group of University of Maine at Augusta music students, under the direction of UMA music professor Russ Lombardi, will play an eclectic mix of standards and light jazz.

There will be hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar, a hot buffet, coffee and dessert.

The auction is a fundraiser for L/A Arts. For more info or tickets, contact L/A Arts at 782-7228, or go online to www.laarts.org.
