AUBURN — On Feb. 12, Kathy Lachance, C.H.T., O.T.R., celebrated her 10-year anniversary with Central Maine Orthopaedics.
She works with the practice’s dedicated hand team and is CMO’s occupational and certified hand therapist.
Lachance has 20 years of experience working in occupational therapy. She began her professional career as an occupational therapist, spending time working at Woodfords Education Center in Portland, the Norway Convalescent Center in Norway, and the Henrietta D. Goodall Hospital in Sanford. She specialized in hand therapy while working at Orthopaedic Associates in Portland, where she worked for five years, and spent two years in Panama City, Fla., where she started a hand practice at Southern Orthopedics and Rehab before returning to Maine to join CMO.
She received her bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from Quinnipiac University and is certified by the Hand Therapy Certification Commission. She is a member of the American Society of Hand Therapy, and the Maine Occupational Therapy Association. She is attending the University of Southern Maine to receive her master’s degree in counseling.
In 2010, Lachance became a certified wellness coach, and hopes to combine these skills, along with occupational therapy and counseling to help patients facing injuries from a holistic perspective, upon graduating from USM.
A mother of two, Lachance is an Auburn native, where she resides.
