OXFORD – The Thompson Lake Environmental Association will hold its fourth annual “I Did a Paddle” on Saturday, July 28. Boats should put in at the Thompson Lake Marina or any portion of the lake. Registration is from 8:30 a.m. to the start at 9:30. Because of high winds, the motorless regatta was postponed from Saturday, July 21, to July 28.
The association cookout will take place at noon at Pismo Beach, with or without the regatta, if it is canceled due to inclement weather. Tickets for the cookout are $5 and should be purchased at the event.

BRYANT POND – A chicken barbecue will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, July 28, at Jefferson Lodge, Route 26, sponsored by Tri-Town Rescue Auxiliary and Jefferson Lodge. OXFORD – A community supper will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday, July 28, at Oxford Congregational Church, King Street.
Menu will include turkey, ham, baked beans, casseroles, salads, homemade pies, coffee, tea and cold beverages. Cost is $7 for adults, $4 for children ages 6 to 12 and free for ages 5 and under.
PARIS – A yard and bake sale will be held from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 28, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 34 Buckfield Road. It will be held rain or shine. There will be coffee and snacks, furniture, toys and other items.
WATERFORD – The Waterford Library will host a magic show for children at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 28. The show will last approximately an hour, is free and all are welcome.
The presenter will be Dennis Labbe, who started practicing magic at the age of 7. He has been performing professionally for the past 15 years. The theme of the show is “Get a Clue at Your Library.” The performance will features doves and rabbits. The library is located on routes 35/37 in Waterford Flat near the old town hall on Keoka Lake.
NORWAY – The Oxford Hills Bridge Club met July 20 at the Fare Share Co-op with four tables in play. Winners were Bailey Geeslin and Richard Balian, first; Dick Allen and Pete Cummings, second; and Nancy Farmer and Marta Clements, third. Newcomers are welcome, and a partner is guaranteed.
