Larry A. ‘Turk’ Dustin
1946 – 2010
FARMINGTON — Larry A. “Turk” Dustin, 64, of Livermore Falls, passed away Tuesday, March 23, at the Sandy River Center for Healthcare due to a short illness, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on Jan. 22, 1946, in Farmington, the son of Shelton Dustin and Geraldine (Briggs) Wentworth. He attended grammar school in Chesterville and later graduated from Mt. Blue.
After school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army on April 17, 1968, where he held the rank of specialist for A Company 8th S&T Battalion as a supply clerk. He ended his military career in 1974. He received a National Defense Service Medal along with other numerous commendation and medals.
He was employed by Livermore Shoe, GH Bass and DeCoster Egg Farms.
He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing, spending time with family and friend at numerous gatherings and pig roasts at Mike Marquis’ home. He enjoyed staying busy with whatever he could find to do.
He is survived by a son, Larry Dustin and his wife, Tena, of Jay; an adopted son, Matthew Grover of Livermore; brothers, Rodney Drown of Nebraska, Peter Drown of Livermore, Shelton “Buddy” Dustin of Dixfield and Richard “Rick” Dustin of Livermore Falls; sisters, Shelee Rugan and her husband, John, of Connecticut, Patsy Blaisdell and her husband, Bob, of Virginia, and Sandra Dustin of Livermore Falls; half-siblings, Marion, Florence, James, Beverly and Iris; nieces and nephews, Michelle, Willie, Peter, David, Kim, Lynn, John, Tori, Jenny, Shawn, Ariel, Amanda, Joshua, Dale, Barbie, Amy, Richard II, Christina, Gerry, Nicole, James and Loryanna; dear friends, Mike, Faye and Charlene, who Larry’s family thanks very much for all they’ve done for him. He loved you very much.
He was predeceased by his parents; a son, Jeffrey Grover; half-siblings, Robert and Shelton Jr.
