Lauretta Leblond


Lewiston – Lauretta Leblond, 92, of Sarah Frye Home and formerly of Oak Park, died Tuesday, April 18, at Marshwood with family at her side.

She was born in Thetford Mines, Quebec, Canada, Nov. 25, 1913, a daughter of Emile and Marie (Mathieu) Pomerleau. Her family moved here in 1921, and she remained a lifelong resident of this community.

She was first married to Albert Cote who passed away in 1948, and then later married Jean Leblond in 1954. He died in 1984. She worked many years in shoe manufacturing as she spent most of her working career at Shapiro Bros.

She was a member of the Basilica at Saints Peter and Paul Church and the Lewiston Senior Citizens. She was also very active in resident activities while she lived at the Sarah Frye Home. Among her favorite enjoyments in her free time were watching “Wheel of Fortune,” “Jeopardy” and figure skating on television.

She leaves a son, Robert Cote of Atkinson, N.H.; a stepson, Henry Leblond and his wife, Fernande, of Lewiston; a sister, Antonia Boucher of Lewiston; three step-granddaughters, Anita Fournier and husband, Tom, of Portland, Diane Rohman and husband, Patrick, of Auburn and Julie Ann Leblond of Lewiston; and a step-greatgranddaughter, Sara Marie Rohman.
