WALES — “Snack Happy: Healthy Habits for Every Day,” will be the topic of discussion at a special program set for Wednesday, March 24. The program will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Wales Presbyterian Church Youth Center Building, Pond Road.
Tricia Dunton, a registered dietitian at Central Maine Medical Center, will show program participants how to select healthy snacks, read labels, shop healthfully and save money.
Dunton is a 2006 graduate of the University of Maine in Orono where she majored in human nutrition. She completed her dietetic internship at the University of New Hampshire in June 2007, and passed her registered dietitian examination later that year.
During her internship, she gained experience working at the New Hampshire Food Bank, the Women, Infants, and Children program, Portsmouth Regional Hospital and Frisbee Memorial Hospital. She is employed at CMMC through a collaborative agreement with Western Maine Community Action’s WIC Program.
