An unkind thing to do

While I was in Farmington recently, visiting my mother, I went to the Fairview Cemetery to visit my father's grave. A few weeks ago, we had planted some flowers, and my mother and sister had bought two beautiful solar lights, one a red cardinal and the other a hummingbird.

While I was there, I noticed that the solar lights had been stolen. They were so special to my family and a real comfort to my mom during her time of grieving. The theft caused much heartache for my family and it truly feels like a violation.

I was very disappointed that someone would actually do such a thing. It's a shame that people can't grieve and take care of their loved ones' resting places without someone vandalizing and stealing. Why would someone do such a thing?

How can that person look at himself in the mirror and feel good?

Why do such an unkind thing to people who are suffering a loss and to those who are resting in peace?

Methinks Veritas may have

Methinks Veritas may have scored a GONG on the Offenso-Meter. 0O:-)

Everyone knows you don't leave anything you don't want stolen in a cemetery. Cemeteries are the happy hunting grounds of idiots, vandals and thieves.

Better ways to make your point

It's not what you said but how you said it Mr. Rimi. After all it's not as if you're sparring with someone over some political ideology. With that you further lose points on the "respect-o-meter. Unless being an angry man is your mea culpa of course.

Did you check with the cemetery office

to see if 'Solar Lighting' was allowed?? Perhaps it was removed on purpose.

Some might find it offensive, eerie, or creepy in a cemetery.

Most likely Mom doesn't need lighting there at night to find her way about.

And how much time have you spent in cemeteries at night, Dave??

The stories I could tell you would really 'peg' the old 'Crass-O-Meter'
