Barely one in three American citizens approve of President Barack Obama at this point (and I'll bet that more than 50 percent of them are on the public dole).
I think he doesn't care and his destructiveness is intentional.
He is an America-hating, Constitution-trampling disaster.
Wake up America, while there is still time.
2012 can't come soon enough for me.

He promised fundamental change and started to institute it when he had his super majority. Problem is that he thought it would work but it didn't. He also thought that people would like it, they didn't. The thing is Larry is that his idea of American & success is different from yours. Sooo....People really didn't want fundfamental change they just didn't want George Bush. The Democrats got creamed in '10 & Obama was only able to sink half the ship. 2012 will most likely go to the Republicans but what will they do with it??? I'm not overly excited about either party but like the Pirate says" what have you gotten the past three years that you want four more of???

This letter is a perfect example of what is so wrong in our country. There's way too much irrational hatred.
The other thing I've noticed is how brave people are when sitting behind the shield of their computer. Most of the mud that is slung wouldn't be in normal conversation, but here on the internet, intelligent people make unfounded borderline libelous allegations without fear of anything more than more borderline libelous allegations in return.

A poll like this had no validity because it mixes in the people who think he is too liberal and the ones who think he is too conservative. Also, we were in a financial crisis when he came into the presidency and while we are very slowly crawling out of it, there will always be those who want speedy miracles and those who will blame him no matter what he does or says. Putting all these guys in one pile does not clarify much as far as figuring out what the American people think.

Sadly, like most people nowadays, I did not vote for Obama so much as voted against the other choice. I have not seen anything to convince me that the alternative would have been better. I expect I will be doing the same in the next election considering what the Republicans appear to be preparing to run against him. I cannot imagine myself voting for someone who has advocated seceding from the Union (Perry, Palin) nor for anyone who has racist or bigoted views towards other Americans(Bachman) as I believe in "We the People". I also cannot picture someone at the head of the government who does not believe government should exist at all (Paul). As for unemployment, housing and the economy, I tend to lay that at the feet of Congress. They pretty much caused the problem and they are the ones who can fix it.

I don't believe all the hype I hear on TV. I am going by the signs I see all around town that say "Help Wanted" and the many new shops that have opened locally and the people I know who have found jobs lately. I'm sure in a country as large as ours recovery will be uneven. It took Maine 30 years to recover from the Great Depression.

...that things are better here than most places. Despite our differences Claire Maine people on average are pretty hearty folk who play it close to the vest. We don't always hit the highs that other places get but we also don't hit bottom like they do either.I travel the country for work and New England as whole faired better then the rest of the country. i.e. California, Nevada, Florida etc... I love the optimism but that long Maine winter is also approaching and when the sun leaves so do a lot of residents & jobs.

(The variability of market forces and global strife play no significant roles in our current crises?!?) Last I check, our quality of life is still at or near the top compared to the rest of the world. Screw the billions of people living on less than a dollar a day, right? Heck, screw everyone but American Republicans, right? (read: sarcasm.)

Gee Larry, you said a mouthful. I'm glad you said it with your mouth and not mine. Let's just say I disagree with 95% of what you're saying. I'll agree with Obama's approval rating being low. We all expect that, however he doesn't have an enviable job right now, does he? I don't agree with some of Obama's programs or decisions, but to cast him as a constitution hating person is plain wrong. I'd love to see his programs work for the benefit of all he serves. And how does one justify accusing someone of hatred when the accuser does so by spewing hate themselves? Do we really want the man to fail? What does that say about us if we do?
