Listen to the voice of the people

During the past two years, Rep. Mike Michaud has rubber-stamped the leftist leanings of President Barack Obama, who has led this country down the path of European socialism.

The country is headed for bankruptcy with the passage of numerous insane spending bills.

No family, business or government can spend excessively more than they take in. The outrageous plunder of taxpayers' money has caused the loss of millions of jobs throughout the country. Maine has been the victim, once again, of a liberal tax-and-spend economy that is a fiscal shambles.

The Bush tax cuts should be kept, not raised.

The Obama health care plan, opposed by 70 percent of Americans, and crammed down our throats by the Obama/Reid/Pelosi trinity, should be repealed. Michaud supported it.

Voters should discharge all those in Congress, Democrat or Republican, who turn a deaf ear to the voice of the people.

Sounds just like every time a

Sounds just like every time a president, or board member says, "we have complete confidence in their ability and stand by them 100%" and then the next day or week they are fired. The point is, I don't ever believe a corporate mouth piece when the say things like "Media reports stating that we plan to drop health care coverage for our employees are completely false,". Usually this means, "oh crap, everyone already knows what we're going to do," and then they do it. The plain truth is that any corporation the sees an advantage one way or the other for a financial advantage, it will make that move.

Michaud can cost you your insurance

After spending a busy week at work and school, Sunday has been a day to try and catch up on the news. It looks like 30,000 McDonald’s employees may lose insurance because of Obamacare. This is not getting more people coverage; it is stripping people who have coverage of it. Obamacare does not make insurance cheaper it makes it more expensive with employees at the lowest tier at McDonalds not alone, http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1000142405274870343160457552241310106307....

Other Aetna clients none to be effected and who may also cancel their employee plans are Home Depot Inc., Disney Worldwide Services, CVS Caremark Corp., Staples Inc. and Blockbuster Inc., among others, according to an Aetna client list obtained by the Journal. Aetna also covers AmeriCorps teaching-program sponsors on the plan which could also be cancelled.

Benefit consultants anticipate that, by 2014, most employers will stop offering mini-med plans. Such plans likely wouldn't meet the definition of adequate coverage for full-time workers. Under the law, midsize and large employers that fail to offer such coverage will have to pay a fine which is only $30,000 where the cost of insuring one employee averages approximately $12,000 per year.

Employers with ten or fewer employees are not required to provide any coverage. The fine for an individual not having coverage is $95 per year, far less that the cost of coverage.

Mike Michaud supported Obamacare which is not helping those who are uninsured merely adding to the rolls.

Guess you still have Fox on, huh...

"McDonald's said the company has no plans to drop the "mini-med" plan."
"Media reports stating that we plan to drop health care coverage for our employees are completely false," said Steve Russell, a senior vice president and head of human resources for McDonald's, in a written response to the article. "These reports are purely speculative and misleading."
You really don't expect to get actual news from Fox do you???????????? They have to take every bit of bad news or rumors of bad news and spin it before they put the truth on a little banner headline that they know Fox viewers can't read (illiterate), scrolled across the bottom of the screen. Fair and Balanced.............ROFLMAO!

By the way, yes it was the...

Wall Street Journal not Fox although since they are owned by the same people you can forgive my mistake. Still when you are referring to news that you "state" is news try to look for updates that article is from September, this is October, and yes I think the WSJ and FoxSnooze are pretty much the same, in as far as they spin bad news about this administration. Even though I looked again for an update on WSJ about McDonalds there was none so they are still spinningggggggggggggggggggggggggggg their bad news story, sorry to hear, they are just another fox outlet (tabloid).

candiceanne's picture

The WSJ article is September

The WSJ article is September 30, 2010 that is three days ago, today is October 3, 2010. The WSJ article is from a letter that McDonalds sent to the proper authorities in the Obama administration.

NO INCUMBENTS

Vote for no incumbents. Vote for a Democrat, a Republican, an Independent, a Tea Partier, or whatever you want. Do not vote for incumbents. They have had their chance and have screwed it up. If they will not legislate congressional term limits, then we must enforce them at the ballot box.

Voting with the leadership of

Voting with the leadership of your party 96.3% of the time does not reflect a representative that "Listens to the Voice of the People". It reflects a YES MAN that votes as Nancy Pelosi instructs him.

Maine should get a big thank you from California's 8th district. Since we've sent Michaud to Washington they have had 2 votes.

GOP

What does that make the entire republican party then?

VoiceOreason's picture

Take a look at the voting of

Take a look at the voting of the representation Maine sends to Washington. Mitchell and Pingree are among the most partisan in the country. Both in the upper 90's. Snowe and Collins vote with their party sixty something percent of the time.

Gee, I wonder who is truly evaluating legislation , showing backbone, and doing what's best for Maine ? I wonder who just blindly walks along in lockstep with party leadership.

Nice try lil, but once again you've only advertised your ignorance with an inaccurate post.

my mistake

My mistake, no name... what does that make the other 99% of the republican party?

VoiceOreason's picture

We don't have the opportunity

We don't have the opportunity to vote for other states. We can only vote for Maine. We do a fantastic job of selecting bi-partisan Senators and a horrible job of selecting bi-partisan congressmen.

It's time we select congressmen cut from the cloth of our Senators. Republicans.

Instead of attacking our competent senators, why don't you explain why Pelosi has our congressmen in her pocketbook?

redstatepublius's picture

Yes!

Michaud=failure

Check out his votes to take $500 billion from seniors Medicare to fund Obamacare.
His $800 billion "stimulus" that made the economy worse and saddled our children with debt.
Mike, why aren't you running ads on these votes if your so proud of them? Where are your ads in support of the HealthCare bill, or Cap and Trade?
Your running from your record and hiding behind some vets. Sick and sad really.

tron's picture

I may of missed it, however I have yet to see one ad

runned by Congressman Michaud. Or Levesque for that matter, now if only we could get the RGA and DGA to stop, maybe we'd have some sanity in our campaign.

voice of the people?

Voice of the people? Isn't that election day? Didn't Michaud walk away with the last election? And he's going to walk away with the next one, too. That is the voice of the people.

mbthedragon's picture

The only thing Miscue will

The only thing Miscue will walk away with in November is a Bean Boot up his sorry Ar$e as we kick it back to Millinockett.

got the memo

I read today's Opinion piece and the data that was key for me was "...Geithner said..." Like he's unbiased on this subject. Remember how one auto giant proclaimed they paid back the government loan early...then we learned it was paid back with government money? My Dad taught me as a kid to judge the source. I refuse to take what "...Geithner said..." and use it as my basis for an argument. Guess I'm "one of them" too.

xyz's picture

Opps guess you did not get the memo...
