OES to meet
LISBON FALLS — Pioneer Chapter 11, Order of the Eastern Star, will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 20, at the Ancient York Masonic Hall on Route 196. The chapter will observe landmarks and obligation.
Refreshments will be served after the meeting. All members of the Order are invited to attend.
AUGUSTA — The Maine Conservation Corps recently welcomed Elise Giasson of Auburn to serve as a team member and AmeriCorps volunteer for the summer season.
Giasson is the daughter of Kim Lessard and Michel Giasson, also of Auburn. The team conducts conservation projects throughout Maine, including extensive recreational trail construction and rehabilitation.
Giasson, a 2007 graduate of Edward Little High School, previously served as a team member with the MCC during the fall 2009 season. This season she will serve on a crew of three to seven members while undertaking several trails projects across Maine.

POLAND — The Poland Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 19, at the Old Schoolhouse. The president, Fred Huntress, will present a program on “Old Trees.” Refreshments will be served after the program and will be followed by a short business meeting. All are invited to attend.
WALES — Webster Lodge 164 AF and AM, 322 Centre Road, will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 20. Work of the evening will be in the Fellowcraft Degree with four candidates.
Prior to the meeting, a spaghetti dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. in the dining hall. All members and visiting Masons are invited to attend.
NEW GLOUCESTER — Sabbathday Lake Grange 365 will hold an indoor yard sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 22. The Grange will sell cutlery, homemade goodies and white elephant items. The hall is located on Sabbathday Road, across from the lake.
