Between June 27 at 7 a.m. and June 29 at 7 a.m. this department has responded to 246 calls for service. Of those calls, 40 of them were motor vehicle stops.

Criminal Mischief

The Country Kitchen building on Locust St. was spray painted with graffiti sometime overnight June 26-27.

Atlas Supply at 47 Spruce St. was tagged with graffiti overnight June 27-28.

Lepage Bakeries at 83 Cedar St. was tagged with graffiti overnight June 28-29.

Thefts

A vehicle parked at the Big Apple on Main St. was burglarized between 9 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on June 27. An XM Satellite radio was stolen.

A red and black 21-inch, 21-speed mountain bike was stolen from outside of Vicki’s Variety on June 28 around 5 p.m.

A green 10-speed, 26-inch Spring bicycle with black handgrips was stolen from outside of Vicki’s Variety on June 28 around 8:45 p.m.

Motor Vehicle Burglary Arrest

Christopher Lussier (19) was arrested for burglary of a motor vehicle and violation of conditions of release on June 28 at 3:21 a.m. Two bike patrol officers came upon Lussier who admitted to having burglarized three cars on Peter Blvd. a short time earlier. Officers recognized him after having received information from Portland, Lisbon, and Falmouth that he and a partner were responsible for 30-40 car burglaries in that area. Lussier had been arrested by LPD on June 27 for operating a vehicle without a license after an officer observed him driving a motorized scooter on Pine St.

Robbery

On June 26 in the evening a juvenile from New Beginnings was jumped at Vicki’s Variety by another group of teens who assaulted him and stole his cell phone.

ATF Warrant Arrest

Thomas Coty (24) was arrested for violating conditions of release and a warrant from the ATF charging weapons offenses, and providing false information in an attempted acquisition of a firearm on June 28 at 2 a.m. at Pleasant View Acres. Officers responded to the address for a reported domestic in progress and discovered Coty inside in violation of his bail conditions.

Burglary

Camden Yarns at 1 Beech St. was burglarized overnight June 28-29. Some textile equipment was stolen.

Sexual Assault Arrest

Lewiston PD assisted in the arrest of Brandon Street (22) at the Chalet Motel on June 27 at 9 p.m. Street was wanted by the Waterville police department on a sexual assault that had occurred on June 27 in their city in which he attacked a stranger who allowed him into her home. Street was working for a traveling magazine sales company doing door to door soliciting. He is also suspected of other sexual assaults elsewhere in Maine that he committed while working.

Operating Under the Influence Arrest

Gary Hamilton (55) was arrested for operating under the influence and operating after suspension on June 28 at 2:09 p.m. in front of Rooper’s on Main St. Officers responded for a reported accident in which Hamilton broadsided a cement truck while trying to make a left turn.
