LEWISTON – Michael Jeser, a Lewiston native, will join the staff of the Los Angeles Jewish Federation to lead the innovative Geller Leadership Project. Jeser, the son of Faye and Paul Jeser, was born in Lewiston in 1976.

Jeser received his BA from the University of Arizona and a double masters in social work and Jewish communal service from the Hebrew Union College and the University of Southern California.

Jeser spent a year in Israel as a participant on Project Otzma, a community service program. He taught English and led after-school programs in community centers – spending much of his time in Sderot.

Jeser held professional positions at the MetroWest JCC in New Jersey, Camp Tevya in New Hampshire, the JCCs of Greater Boston, and most recently as the COO of the JCC at Milkin, in West Hills, California.

The goal of the Geller Leadership Project is to recruit, train, encourage and enable a select group of young (age 25 to 40) Jewish professionals to become future leaders of the community. Geller Fellows will improve their leadership abilities and acquire more of the tools needed to make a difference in the Jewish future.
