Lewiston photographer has work on display

LEWISTON – The Central Maine Medical Center Rotating Art Gallery is sponsoring the photographic work of Sharon E.W. Poulin of Lewiston during July.

While working on her B.A. in art, Poulin took several photography classes. The plan was to use the photos as her sketchbook for painting, drawing and printmaking.

Photography soon became her first love and the camera hasn’t left her side since. A professional graphic designer for 17 years and graphic design freelancer for 19 years, she has used her photos as illustrations in brochures, posters and catalogs, but still considers herself an amateur shutterbug.

In her first show since college, Poulin presents still life, landscapes and portrait work spanning the last several years, but highlights a recent trip to Ireland. Poulin lives in Lewiston with her husband, Michael, and three sons, Charlie, Mathieu and Jamie, and her dog, Henry.

The gallery is sponsored by the Woman’s Hospital Association in its efforts to support patients with fundraising projects throughout the year. For more information about the association, call the hospital gift shop at 795-2295. To learn more about the art exhibits, call Kathleen Cormier at 346-3462.
