Lewiston students inducted into National Honor Society


LEWISTON – The annual induction ceremony for the Lewiston High School Chapter of National Honor Society was held May 9 at the high school. The students represent those who have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 90 percent. Also, the students meet high standards of leadership, service, citizenship and character.

The candlelight ceremony included speeches by senior class students, Isla Hansen, Ashley Couture, Rebekah Choate, Marissa Iadevaia-Jalbert and Andrea Lama. Bill Hiss, vice president for external affairs, Bates College, gave an address. More than 200 family members and friends of the newest members attended.

The National Honor Society ranks as one of the oldest national organizations for high school students. It is sponsored by the National Association of Secondary School Principals.

Junior members are Amber Auger, Allyson Beaucage, Ashley Bemis, Brian Bilodeau, Luke Bonefant, Elizabeth Brochu, Husayn Carnegie, Serena Curtis, Ann Danforth, Maria Delcourt, Danielle Dubuc, Jessica Dumond, Sherri Elie, Karli Fletcher, Jessica Fortin.
