LIVERMORE FALLS — The trustees of the Treat Memorial Library will have a “flower power” fundraiser to break up the winter blahs and boost the book fund. Between now and April 9, brochures and order forms will be available at the library to order perennial plants, bulbs or shrubs. All profits will augment the book fund.
The plants range in price from $10 to $30. They are quality products from a reputable company that can be shipped either directly to the purchaser for a $5 shipping fee or to the library for free. The purchaser would then pick up their order from the library.
The plants are backed by a 100 percent satisfaction policy. They will be shipped to arrive during the planting season in May.
The book fund is used to purchase more than just books and other reading materials. The cost of the SOLAR program, where patrons can borrow most any book currently in a state library for free, comes out of the fund. The recent upgrade to the library’s software system, permitting patrons to view the entire collection, reserve a book or renew a book online, was partially funded from the fund and DVDs and other audio items are purchased from the fund.
