Library to kick off summer reading program

MEXICO — As part of the Mexico Public Library’s “Wonderful Wednesdays” monthly programs for kids ages 2 to 12, the library will host a summer reading program kickoff party from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 26.

Children who are interested in participating in the library’s summer reading incentive program, “Reading is a Thrill: Join the Library Carnival,” will have the opportunity that day to sign up for the program. By signing up that day, participants will receive a week head start in the incentive part of the program, meaning that they can begin counting their reading time starting that day. Also included in the fun that day will be a visit from Bananas the Clown, stories and goodies to eat.

Children who would like to participate in the summer reading program, but are unable to attend the kickoff, may come in to the library to sign up any time after Tuesday, June 1.
