Where are the lights on Vista Drive?
That’s what we wanted to know after we drove an hour to see these beautiful Christmas lights.
We live in Alna and recently took our four children on a Sunday drive. We ended up at the Auburn Mall where we bought gifts for the giving tree.
We ate at one of the restaurants in the area and, after a nice meal, headed out to see “the lights,” our main reason for taking this drive.
We were so disappointed to arrive and read the sign that informed us where to go for more information. We were shocked when we read the reasons behind there being no lights.
It was costing taxpayers money for traffic control on the street? Aren’t the people who put up the lights taxpayers, too?
We brought tax dollars and revenue into Auburn when we came to see the lights, as do many other light seekers. What is going on in this country?
Shame on the people in the neighborhood for being Scrooges. It’s for such a short period of time for them to have the inconvenience of traffic on their street.
Why not set up a hot chocolate stand and make a few bucks of the whole deal? Put up a sleigh and some real reindeer for photo ops and make more money. Maybe just smile and celebrate with your neighbors who are enjoying the holiday.
I don’t get it.
