LISBON — Town councilors moved forward with the process of applying for a 2018 Community Development Block Grant Downtown Revitalization Grant during Tuesday night’s meeting.
A public hearing on the CDBG grant is set for the next council meeting on March 20 at 7 p.m. If the grant is accepted, the town will be awarded $300,000 to update and improve sidewalks in the Lisbon Village area.
“There’s also another option along with doing the sidewalks and that is land acquisition,” said Tracey Steuber, economic and community development director. “This grant’s funds can be used to acquire property. It can be used for green space (or) parking.”
The grant also has 25 percent matching funds from M-T Pools.
After the public hearing, Steuber can submit the application, which is due by March 30.
