LISBON — Town Manager Diane Barnes presented a municipal budget of $10.1 million to the Town Council on Tuesday evening, advising it’s $1.9 million more than this fiscal year.

The proposed spending plan represents a 23.7 percent increase from 2017-18. It does not include the county assessment and school spending.

Wages and benefits account for 49.6 percent of the budget.

Barnes said health insurance costs are still “a moving target.”

The unassigned fund balance has increased to $2.8 million in the past year.

“Even though it’s better than last year, we don’t have as much that we can spend because as your budgets increase the amount that you have to save in reserve is going to go down,” Barnes said.
