LISBON — Police searched a home Wednesday at 54 Wing St. in Lisbon Falls and charged a 44-year-old man with drug trafficking.
Occupant Walter Branson was arrested on a charge of drug trafficking after the execution of a search warrant and a monthlong investigation by Lisbon Police Detective William Tapley and the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.
Evidence seized included approximately three pounds of marijuana, some packaged in eight-ounce and one-ounce quantities. Also seized were two handguns: a .45-caliber with loaded magazines and a .357 magnum revolver equipped with a speed loader; scales; more than $1,700 in cash; several pill bottles containing various amounts of liquid methadone and nine methadone tablets. No one living at the address had prescriptions for the methadone, police said.
Branson was charged with trafficking in marijuana and released on bail, police Chief David Brooks said. The investigation was continuing Friday.
