LISBON — Town officials launched a new municipal website designed to have a “clean and simple appearance” and “ease of navigation” for its users, according to a news release from Tracey Steuber, Lisbon’s Economic and Community Development director.
The new site is at the same address, www.lisbonme.org, and will be more responsive to devices such as tablets and smartphones.
A redesign was driven by the needs of residents, businesses, investors and visitors who are searching for content and functionality, the release said.
New features include the ability to submit a service request, a Find It Fast button, easy access to online forms and documents, online payments, sign up for e-alerts and an emergency banner to send out emergency news to the residents and businesses.
The new website also meets the Americans with Disabilities Act criteria and includes accessibility features such as a screen reader and the ability to change font size and contrast.
According to the release, the website was approved as part of the town’s “commitment to improving communication, openness and transparency.”
