LEWISTON – Sam Blaisdell pitched a no-hitter to lead Aroostook Fence of South Lewiston Little League past Cyber Solutions of New Auburn Little League, 7-0.
Blaisdell struck out 13 and walked two while picking up his second win of the season. Zion Gurney pitched four solid innings for Cyber Soultions, allowing only one run on three hits and striking out five. Andrew Loisel led Aroostook with a double and a single. Ben Trytek belted a triple, and Austin Merritt and Nick Powers each added a double.
In another South Lewiston/New Auburn inter-league clash, Hammond Lumber walked away with a win over VFW in four innings.
Ryan Bell silenced the Auburn bats, giving up only one hit while walking two and striking out six. Hammond jumped out to an 4-0 lead after the first inning. Elijah Harris went 4-for-4 with a home run and 4 RBIs. Colby Bilodeau went 2-for-3 with a homer and a double. Jacob Strout, Garrett Poussard and Bell also added multiple hits.
Griffin Verrill pitched well for VFW, striking out two and walking none. Garrett Vachon also pitched for VFW, giving up three walks while striking out three. Hammond and VFW will face off again at 9 a.m. Saturday at South Lewiston.
