LEWISTON — Hammond Lumber rallied late to score five runs in the top of the sixth inning and topped Dube Gravel, 9-5, in South Lewiston Little League major division baseball.
Dube got off to an early lead in the first, scoring three runs to take a 3-1 lead. Jacob Strout took over on the mound for Hammond and shut down the Dube offense, striking out 14 batters and allowing only three hits.
Garrett Poussard lead the Hammond offense with three hits and three runs scored. Nathan Hutchins and Colby Bilodeau both chipped in with a pair of hits. Jacob Labbe, Dominic Fournier and Strout each had a hit as well.
Jeremy Nadeau pitched a solid game for Dube and contributed to the offense with an inside the park home run in the bottom of the fifth. Matt Forgues put an end to Hammond’s late rally pitching in relief. Brandon Beaupre added a pair of hits for Dube.
