Livermore Falls fireworks ordinance workshop to be held

LIVERMORE FALLS — The Planning Board will hold a fireworks ordinance workshop at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, at the Town Office.

The Board of Selectmen voted last July to have the Planning Board draft an ordinance setting guidelines on the use of consumer fireworks in the village area. The state legalized certain fireworks in January 2012 and set times when they can be used.

Selectmen have said they don’t want to ban fireworks entirely.

The village area is considered from the Jay line in Chisholm Square to Route 17 to where the power lines cross the road, to Moose Hill Road and the Church Street area, Town Manager Kristal Flagg previously said.

The Planning Board will also get a property maintenance ordinance update that selectmen also asked them to draft.

Voters will have the final say on the ordinances.

The board will get a presentation of preliminary village district maps for ordinance updates.

Members will also consider a site plan review for Undercover Nails submitted by Patricia S. Davis for 40 Depot St.
