Livermore man charged over text messages

LIVERMORE FALLS — Police arrested a Livermore man on a charge of violating a protection order and dealt with juveniles taking items from a local store over the weekend.

Matt Huffman, 20, of Livermore, who has a protection order to have no contact with the victim, violated the order by sending text messages to her, Police Chief Ernest Steward Jr. said.

After receiving text messages late Friday, Livermore Falls officer John Furr and an officer from the Sheriff’s Department went to his Livermore home and after investigating arrested Huffman, he said.

He remains in jail in Auburn, Steward said.

In another incident, three juveniles have been banned from Pike’s Corner Oasis after police were called Friday night at about 8:30 p.m. for a report of some chocolate bars and pastry being taken from the Route 133 store. Their parents were notified, he said.
